We have three types of admission for international students. Please read each description carefully to decide how to apply.


International Student

Admission to Academic Program

For students who are ready to study full-time at the college level at Sinclair on an F1 Visa or transferring to Sinclair on an F1 Visa.

In addition to the application, several documents are required:

  • High school transcript
  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Proof of financial support
  • A personal essay

For instructions on sending the other required documents, choose if you are applying from abroad or applying from within the U.S.


International Student

English Now! Intensive ESL Program

For students who do not have the required English proficiency scores (such as TOEFL or IELTS) and plan to study English first before starting college level coursework at Sinclair.

  • Proof of financial support

International Student

Visiting Students

For visiting students who are studying full-time at another institution in the U.S. and want to take a course or courses at Sinclair College.

In addition to the application, several documents are required:

  • Copy of your current university transcript
  • Copy of your visa
  • Copy of your I-20

Admission is open to all applicants; however international students on an F1 Visa must submit additional documents to be considered for admission. Some programs have additional requirements that must be completed prior to actually beginning the program. These include the Health Sciences, Paralegal, Police Academy, Early Childhood Education, GM ASEP, Mopar CAP, and Honda PACT programs, as well as the College Credit Plus program and A.I.S. and A.T.S. degrees.
